    Yin and Sophia were fantastic. I can't compliment them enough. They were incredibly kind and professional at our Newborn photoshoot.

    My husband and I are first time parents and it has been a tough first week. We went into the photoshoot feeling apprehensive about whether Bub will stay asleep throughout the entire shoot. Amazingly, Yin and Sophia were so good at handling newborns I didn't hear him cry once - which is AMAZING.

    My husband and I were able to just chill out on the sofa while they did the shoot - a much needed break.

    All the photos also came out beautiful - I'm very impressed. I'll definitely be back for more for our baby's 100 day shoot!

Deep Sleep


During these first two weeks, babies enter a deep, restful sleep more easily, allowing for calm transitions between outfits and poses.

Natural Posing


Newborns still retain their womb-like flexibility, making it easy to capture those gentle, organic "curled up" positions.

Skin Condition

newborn acne and skin peeling (which often occur as the baby adapts to the environment) have not yet peaked during this 8–14 day window, leading to clearer "fresh" skin in the photos.

Newborn photography is still possible for babies over 1 month old, but the session style will be different from the classic curled, sleepy newborn poses.

FAQs

What’s the best time for a Newborn photoshoot?

The best time for newborn photography is between 8–14 days after birth. In professional newborn photography, a well-sleeping baby = beautiful photos.

Within 14 days: Babies are in deep sleep, their bodies are relaxed, and they can safely be posed into more adorable positions. Parents will get the best results, and babies will enjoy a comfortable, restful experience without fuss.

15–20+ days: It’s still possible, but babies become a little harder to settle each day. Sleep is lighter, they wake more easily, and it takes longer to soothe them. The number of perfect poses depends on how deeply your baby sleeps. If settling is difficult, we recommend wrapped or semi-wrapped poses.

Around 30 days: (click here for photos)

You can add extra time (an overtime fee will apply: $100 per 30 minutes) so we can gently soothe your baby to sleep for classic newborn poses.

Or, we can keep it simple and capture your baby’s natural, awake moments just as they are.

What can I do if I miss the 2-week newborn photo time frame? What is another good time for baby photos?

4-6 Months is a really good time for baby photos, because during this time, babies have enough energy to stay active during the photo session, allowing them to have more facial expressions and smile more.

What should I prepare before the photoshoot?

  1. Please prepare bottled milk and let us keep it handy—we can help settle the baby if needed.The milk bottle is the key, especially if your baby is a boy

  2. Please bring a dummy, nappies, wipes, and any specific creams or products you use.

  3. Bring snacks and water if siblings are attending.

  4. For family photos, matching outfits in colour or style are ideal. We provide baby outfits and wraps, but feel free to bring your own.

  5. Please have mum’s makeup and both parents’ hair ready before arriving.

What do parents need to do during the photosession?

Just leave your baby to us , and chill and relax have a rest , Sofia and Yin will take care of your little one, we will call you when we need you join the photos.

Can I take behind-the-scenes photos or video?

No problems, please share us the photos if you like and tag #annaclairestudio when you share them on social media.

The best photoshoot time is against my cultural practice (we usually stay home for a month). What should I do?

We completely understand and respect your cultural traditions — every family has its own beautiful way of caring for their baby.

If you’re unsure, we recommend discussing it with your midwife or doctor for professional guidance on what’s best for your baby’s health.

For the best photo quality, we suggest a studio session, as our controlled lighting and warm environment ensure soft, flattering, and beautifully detailed images.
